When attacking the Bible and its contradictions, the clergy is defended by saying that the Bible should not be read literally. But you think about it, and if you have read at least a minimum of the Bible, comes to a convergence:
1. The Bible should not be read literally, has a deeper meaning which is related, therefore the facts recounted here are fictional and never happened.
2. The facts of the Bible are real and true, so it must be read literally.
Therefore, if we take the second path (ie, if read literally) are thousands of contradictions, we find thousands of lies and inconsistencies.
Now, if we decide to take the first path, the most advocated by the church, because we, therefore, that the story of the Bible is fictional, because the inconsistencies that have only one meaning can be assumed to be consistent if something never happened.
